Soncek 2019 – Zahar
Venezia Giulia IGT
It is a real pleasure to return to writing about a wine from the Zahar company (from the Breg Valley – between the Karst plateau and Istria) after a couple of years.
A company that I was lucky enough to visit and that I met a few years ago in Cerea in a context in which their wines stood out despite the co-presence of big names.
Friulano, Malvasia and Vitovska for a fragrant, precise and intensely flavored wine that confirms Zahar as one of the most approachable and convincing realities among those who work in bio/biodynamic/natural.
Very bright straw yellow color (I already said something about the color of Zahar’s wines here)
Fruity hints of peach and melon, chamomile and broom, herbaceous hints follow one another.
It is characterized on the palate by its good body, density, although dry, an almost wrinkled response which prolongs its taste and balance.
Good at the table, very good with Spaghetto alla Bottarga (in the photo).
Scrittore/poeta disorganico, coltivatore principiante, cuoco discontinuo, sommelier agli inizi, movimentatore di poponi, giovane padre.
