Thierry Germain è un vignaiolo che ha la sua azienda (Domaine des Roches Neuves) a Varrains, vicino Saumur, uno dei luoghi più vocati di tutta la denominazione di Saumur-Champigny, dove nascono alcuni dei migliori vini della Loira. Vignaiolo entusiasta, rispettoso, grande interprete e promotore del territorio con le sue innumerevoli vinificazioni parcellari.

Chenin Blanc 100 percento da vecchie viti. Agricoltura Biodinamica. Affinamento sulle fecce per 9 mesi.

Vino chiaro, quasi diafano, profumatissimo e fresco. Porge aromi di fiori di campo, lemongrass e mela, petroso, appena erbaceo, sorso fresco, freschissimo, verticale, acidità fluente e sapidità in rilievo fiancheggiate da una buona materia. Persistente, finale coerentemente agrumato.
La poca dimestichezza col vitigno, lo avrò incontrato nella vita tre/quattro volte, non mi consente di fare un confronto adeguato con altri rappresentanti della tipologia e della regione d’origine, ma l’ignoranza consapevole è il miglior viatico verso approfondimenti e sorprese piacevoli.
Il giudizio sul vignaiolo autore di questo vino, Thierry Germain, dopo aver bevuto questo e altri suoi vini è però più che positivo.

Clear wine, almost diaphanous, very fragrant and fresh. It offers aromas of wild flowers, lemongrass and apple, stony, slightly herbaceous, fresh, very fresh, vertical sip, flowing acidity and prominent flavor flanked by good material. Persistent, consistently citrusy finish.
The lack of familiarity with the vine, I will have encountered it three/four times in my life, does not allow me to make an adequate comparison with other representatives of the type and region of origin, but conscious ignorance is the best viaticum towards insights and pleasant surprises .
However, the opinion on the winemaker who created this wine, Thierry Germain, after drinking this and his other wines is more than positive.
